Alienware Gripes  Alienware makes high end personal computers

This page, though short, is here for an important reason. I had a bad experience purchasing an Alienware computer. It started with the machine arriving much later than the expected delivery date which was already weeks after ordering it. The details are long and painful, perhaps some day I'll document it here. Suffice it to say, that I will never buy another Alienware computer and I suggest you don't either.

So long, Alienware, it was nice to know you by Ed Bott March 22, 2006. Regarding Dell buying Alienware. Quoting: "Pretty soon Dell customers will be able to spend $10,000 for a PC. It will be interesting to see how those first buyers react when they have a problem with that Dell PC and get shunted into the world’s worst technical support system .. In the six months or so since I last wrote about Dell, their service has become worse ... If you’re thinking of buying a Dell – or an Alienware – think again. There are plenty of well-run companies you can give your business to. You’ll get a better computer, and your blood pressure will stay within medically acceptable bounds. Trust me on this one."

Alienated Over Onsite Support by Ed Foster on his gripe2ed.com web site. July 15, 2005.  This tells about someone who could not get Alienware to send a technician to his house to perform repair work. Quoting: 

"I contacted Alienware a few weeks ago to ask if they could explain their support policies in this regard, and their spokesperson said they would get back to me. They haven't, and my subsequent calls have gone unreturned."
