Norton Anti-Virus Gripes
Norton Anti-Virus is one of the leading anti-virus programs
Gripes are available about Norton
AntiVirus 2000, Norton AntiVirus 2001
and Norton AntiVirus 2002
and NAV 2003 and NAV 2004.
In the April 22, 2002 issue of InfoWorld magazine, The Gripe Line column by
Ed Foster was about Symantec business practices regarding Norton Anti Virus.
The article, Can you really click 'No'?,
describes a company that paid for Norton Anti Virus by the year for use by all
employees. They liked the product and renewed their subscription for another
year. Only after paying for the second year did they learn that Symantec
changed the rules of the agreement. The nature of the rule change was such that
the company no longer wanted to use Norton Anti Virus. However, Symantec also
changed the right of return without telling their customer. Symantec refused to
return the company's money even though at the time they took the money, they
never told the company (their customer) about rule changes regarding the
license agreement.
